If you are thinking about developing a PC wargame or have developed or currently developing a PC wargame that would be to niche for one of the big publishers to take up would you welcome a publisher who specialises in exactly what you are doing..to publish wargames with innovative gameplay that would be seen as to much of a risk or not likely to be profitable enough by the big major publishers or cover more niche theatres i.e not just WW2 West Front etc.

Also any of you out there who want to get into game development and can code? Would you like to convert well known boardgames to the PC? To become a possible in house development team?

We'd like to hear from you, what you'd like from a publisher, what you feel you'd need to get your game to release etc.

So email me at j__rimmer@hotmail.com

  1. I am not actually a programmer but I do like to tinker with ideas on tabletop simulator. ive got a few vids on wargame moviesat youtube. I even thought of just multi purpose blocks for ww2 divisions to replace counters.

I've done a lot of Python coding for my schoolwork, and am looking at learning something more suited to gamedev (eg, C#). I would be willing to volunteer a few hours a week to a project once I've completed my thesis.

I like this idea, but licensing could be an issue. Are there certain games you had in mind (maybe older ones that are now public domain)?

    1. The actual board game designers are the ones who are looking for developers:) SO no worries on that front.

    1. At the moment it's just an idea and no more. AN exciting idea though. We would focus or at least try and focus on games that the bigger boys wouldn't take on as they'd be considered to niche etc.

    1. sort of and sort of not..email me at j__rimmer@hotmail.com. Yes your game would be the kind of thing we'd publish, but not what the in house team would develop:) In house would actually develop boardgame conversions with AI and possible extras utilising PC power when appropriate.

    2. Saying that as a publisher we'd really like to be looking at games that do things abit differently, esp if it is covering popular theatres and Wars like WW2 East front etc. Now if your game was set in a theatre which hasn't been used often in a wargame then it would be great as is.

  5. If you had chose Africa, Italy, Pacific or gone for a non WW2 War/battle that has hardly been touched by PC wargames again perfect. As it's Kursk we'd be looking to see what make sit stand out from all other wargames set in WW2 east front..what is innovative etc etc
